Processing Dialog
To place an order on the move queue and schedule the picking moves, take the "Work With Orders" option from the "Outbound Processing" or "Radio Frequency" menus. Use the search criteria to locate the order you wish to put on the move queue and place the "Move Queue" option next to the order. The following panel will then appear.
The panel shows the storer and the bill of lading number at the top to confirm that the correct order has been selected.
The Priority defaults to 20 when the panel is first displayed. The priority determines how quickly these moves will be performed in relation to the other moves on the move queue. Priorities range from 1-99, where 1 is the highest priority and will be performed first and 99 is the lowest priority. The default setting of 20 gives room to accelerate these moves if necessary for a rush order.
The Staging/Door Location is used as the "to" location on the move. This is the location that the equipment operator will be given to deliver the product to complete the move. It could be a door which would have the operator place the product directly on a truck or it could be a staging location. This parameter must be supplied and must match a valid building location for you to complete processing.
Once you press the <Enter> key, stock will be committed to each line of the order if it has not been done already. Standard commitment processing will be used to determine where to pick the stock for each line item. The order detail lines split as necessary when stock must be picked from more than one location to fill the line item.
A move queue entry will be created for each item/lot/location combination found on the order. The moves will be added to the queue in the pick sequence established for the account. Thus, the moves will be assigned from the queue pretty much in the same sequence they would have been presented on the pick sheet.
Once complete, the order status will be changed to 'MQ' to indicate that the order is on the move queue. Placing an order on the move queue is the equivalent of requesting a paper pick sheet and is treated as such within WDLS.
Pick Line Replenishment
From the "Radio Frequency" menu choose the option "Work With Pick Lines". Use the search criteria to position to a pick line location that you wish to replenish and place the option named "Replenish" next to that line. When you press the <Enter> key the following panel will appear.
The Item code and description, pick line location , and the current pick line quantity are displayed at the top of the panel for verification that you are working on the correct location.
The From Location , and the Quantity to replenish, have been provided by the computer, using the same logic as the Replenishment Listing to determine both the oldest available stock and the quantity. These are the suggested quantity and location. You can supersede either entry by keying over it. If you key in an invalid location, if the location does not contain enough to cover the replenishment, or if the quantity cannot be determined from what was entered, a message will appear.
The Move Priority field establishes the priority that should be assigned to this move on the movement queue. The default is 20. The standard 1-99 move queue applies as described in the prior section. If the move needs to be made immediately, a decrease in the value of the Move Priority pushes the move in front of other, less pressing moves.
Once all the information is keyed correctly, press the <Enter> key to complete the replenishment. The inventory adjustments will be made immediately, and the stock on the books will be considered in the pick line location. A single move queue entry will be placed on the move queue.
